My latest post on Bee Tree Studios discusses the importance in your memory keeping of the selfie. Love it or hate it, there is virtually no escaping it. Read my thoughts on why it is worth the time and effort to take a self photo every now and then, and ways to practice doing so. I also show an example of how I used a #summerselfie of my family to document a day at the beach. Click on the link below for my tips and links to resources. (And my apologies if you now have this annoying song in your head!)

My July post on Capturing Magic gives examples of the kind of magic you can capture from behind with your camera on your Disney vacation. These are often some of my favorite photos because they show candid moments, relationships, or feature simple icons like mouse ears. The link below will take you to the post and the Capturing Magic Blog - a top site for all things in the Disney-photography-memory-keeping world.
The Perspective from Behind

I am finally back to posting on the blog after a few weeks away for vacation, plus a couple of more weeks to re-group once we returned home. During that time, I did have a few posts published for the two memory keeping blogs I write for: Bee Tree Studios and Capturing Magic. June 25 saw this post on Bee Tree Studios, a tutorial on how to print customized journaling cards using the Becky Higgins' free Project Life download for lined cards. I used Stephanie's Beach Side Mini for inspiration and for the supplies to tell the story of my first glow cube drink at Disney World! Click on the link below for more info and links to supplies.

This past Friday night was another fantastic Animate Your Night event at the Walt Disney Family Museum, located in The Presidio of San Francisco. Promoted as an after hours party, it is the perfect blend of cocktails, music, art and pop culture. Because there are many Disney fans out there who would fully enjoy this event but aren't in close enough proximity to get to the museum, I thought it would be fun to share some details about the party through some comments and photos. But a few disclaimers first....

For June on the Capturing Magic blog, I show a few ways to turn your scenic vacation photos into practical but magical items for your home and office. They are easy to do and most require a few clicks on the computer. See how I used photos of the Disney castles to create stationery, a mouse pad, and a desk top framed watercolor.

When you hear a Jimmy Buffett song, chances are you will think of a tropical beach, flip flops, parrots, and a good time in Florida. Likewise, when you hear The Beach Boys or any song about surfing and California, you will probably think of, well...California. As I went through my mental musical catalog and a few playlists I found online, I wanted to keep the songs relevant for someone who might be traveling to one of these two states for their vacation. They will be expecting plenty of sun and will see lots of palm trees. Here's my musical interpretation of this vacation backdrop. Included below are a few notes regarding some of the songs selected.

I grew up knowing all about Walt Disney World. I am a Floridian by birth, vacationed more times than I can count on the beaches of the Gulf of Mexico, and even spent four great college years in the Tampa Bay area. Most of my Disney Parks experiences happened as an adult, and I consider the Magic Kingdom my home park.
